Renovation of an educational facility in Surrey, British Columbia. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Interim School of Medicine will be home for a minimum of three years, while the Permanent School of Medicine is designed and constructed. TIMELINE: Request for Proposals for prospective proponents to submit proposals for the provision of Architect/Prime Consultant Services including services of Sub-Consultants for the Interim School of Medicine at SFU's Surrey campus has closed. The design of the Interim School of Medicine aims to integrate and engage within SFUs unique existing Surrey campus qualities. The successful proponent will be required to be evaluate the SFU Surrey Campus existing facilities and the potential spaces identified in order to select the optimal space location that creates the "home" for the Interim School of Medicine that will meet the accreditation requirements. Accreditation is a critical milestone during the design process. To that end the School of Medicine space allocation is required to be identified and space planning complete by Summer 2025, for a site review by the Canadian Accreditation Consortium. The Architect/Prime Consultant and its sub-consultants will be retained to provide professional services to design, tender and oversee contract administration to project close out. The Architect/Prime Consultant shall provide advice on the evaluation and selection of other specialty consultants to be engaged by the Client. The Prime Consultant shall be responsible for, engaging, managing and coordinating all consultants throughout the Project as necessary. The Scope of Services includes - Program Verification, Pre-Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents and Specifications, Bidding and/or Negotiations, Construction Contract Administration and Post-Construction. Construction - September 2025 - May 2026 Further update in early fall 2024, pending award.
