The Village of Hanover Park, Illinois (pop. 37,811) desires to retain a consultant or consultant team for the purpose of rewriting its Comprehensive Plan. The Village wishes to develop an innovative and integrated plan that will: Present a clear message and unified vision for Hanover Park's future Solicit public input and achieve community consensus Respond to potential market opportunities Enhance the quality of life and standard of living Encourage economic vitality Build on previous plans, initiatives, and projects Create synergy and short-term momentum while promoting long-term value Deliver a workable strategy with supporting rationale Propose optimal land uses and necessary regulatory and policy changes Guide decisions about growth, development, and investment for the village Provide steps to implement the plan The Village of Hanover Park is located twenty-seven miles northwest of the City of Chicago and in DuPage and Cook Counties. The last Comprehensive Plan was prepared in 2010 and was updated since then in 2012 to include a more detailed Village Center and TOD Plan and in 2019 to update the Future Land Use Map. The Village is mostly landlocked with about sixty acres within the Village's boundary agreement on the eastern edge for potential future annexation. The Village of Hanover Park is looking for a consultant to produce a plan to address the accelerating growth and development potential of the Village in a way that maximizes the benefits for the residents while maintaining the essential character the residents value. Hanover Park is an increasingly attractive, stable location to develop with nearly one hundred acres of prime land adjacent to a Metra station and many redevelopment opportunities throughout the Village.
