Liquidated damages for this project are as follows: $500.00 /per day substantial completion deadline missed, and $500.00/per day completion deadline missed BID BOND: Bidders are required to submit a bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total estimated contract amount for each individual school location, as determined by SCBE and specified in the IFB, to ensure the satisfactory completion of the work for which a contract or purchase order is awarded that may exceed $100K. Should the Bidder withdraw their bid response without entering into a contract the Bid Bond may be forfeited in whole or in par Q&A Posted July 22, 2024, by EOD SCOPE OF WORK The SCBE requests bids for Hamilton HS Stem Lab Remodel. The specifications are contained in the Design Project Manual. Responses submitted must meet or exceed all requirements. Bids that do not meet or exceed all requirements will be considered non-responsive. Scope of work includes, but not limited to, Upgrade existing classroom(s) 229, 212, 227, 132A, and 211 to Stem Lab(s) classrooms to include: Electrical work, painting, floor replacement, lighting upgrade, equipment removal, cabinet demolition, and sink replacement. Estimated start time is 09/16/2024. The substantial completion date is 11/13/2024 and a final completion date of 12/13/2024. Scope of Work: 1. Install/removal of plumbing according to the MSCS plumbing Standards and Requirements Information. Capping of electrical and gas lines should meet standards and requirements according to MSCS. New electrical outlets and wiring for the wall should meet standards and requirements according to MSCS. 2. The Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining Architect/Engineering (A/E) design services by a State licensed A/E firm as needed to obtain plumbing or electrical permits. The construction documents shall be prepared by a registered design professional where required by the statutes of the jurisdiction in which the project is to be constructed or installed. 3. Any permit fees, design fees, printing fees, or application fees shall be paid by the Contractor. 4. Movement of furniture as needed to perform work is the responsibility of the contractor, including moving furniture back into spaces after work is performed. 5. Approved painting products include Sherwin Williams, Farrell Calhoun, PPG, or approved equal. 6. The contractor shall provide a minimum of a 5-gallon bucket of attic stock for all paint used. Contractor to provide paint formulas on all paint used. 7. If contractor wants to work outside of normal operating hours, they shall be responsible for paying overtime for the plant manager to open and close the facility as needed. 8. The MSCS electrical and plumbing standards and requirements below are intended to assist the A/E and Contractor with project expectations.
