This project is to build a debris wall to provide lateral support to the roadway and ensure public safety. CITY ENGINEERS ESTIMATE: $ 674,605.00 WORK DESCRIPTION: The project site is located approximately 1.5 miles southeast of the intersection of Topanga Canyon Boulevard and Ventura Boulevard in the Woodland Hills area. The east side of the roadway is an ascending slope with slope debris encroaching 1 to 2 feet into the public right-of-way. These conditions are a threat to public safety along Bedel Street. This project will mitigate the threat to public safety and prevent slough from encroaching into the roadway by constructing a new upslope debris wall bulkhead retaining structure along the east side of Bedel Street. The retaining structure will have two sections and be approximately 172 feet total in length and 7 feet in height and will consist of cast-in-drilled-hole (CIDH) piles with steel wide flange beams, and precast concrete lagging panels with an architectural finish. The project also includes installation of new AC berm along the east side of Bedel Street and reconstruction of a section of AC pavement. PRE-QUALIFIED LIST OF CONTRACTORS: Only the following 5 Contractors can bid on this project as a Prime Contractor: Jilk Heavy Construction, Inc. Mike Prlich & Sons, Inc. Clarke Contracting Corporation Mladen Buntich Construction Co., Inc. Calex Engineering Company The project is included in the City of Los Angeles FY 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of July 8, 2024, information regarding a design team or a general contractor is not available. A firm timeline for construction has not been determined.
