Site work for a water / sewer project in Sloughhouse, California. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The Project includes, without limitation, furnishing all necessary labor, materials, equipment and other incidental and appurtenant Work necessary to satisfactorily complete the Project, as more specifically described in specifications. This Work will be performed in strict conformance with the specifications, permits from regulatory agencies with jurisdiction, and applicable regulations. The quantity of Work to be performed and materials to be furnished are approximations only, being given as a basis for the comparison of Bids. Actual quantities of Work to be performed may vary at the discretion of the County. Three extraction wells (EWs) are currently inoperative. Sacramento County Department of Waste Management & Recycling (DWMR) wishes to replace the pumps and pump motors in these three wells. DWMR will supply the pumps and motors. Additionally, nine old wellheads require replacement, and these wellheads will include new dedicated water level tubes (1") and transducer installation tubes (1"). The wellheads will be provided by DWMR. Question Submission Deadline:July 25, 2024, 6:00pm PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The work to be performed under this contract includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, and other incidental work for: The replacement of three extraction well pumps and nine wellheads, and the addition of dual monitoring tubes on each of the new wellheads. BASIS FOR AWARD: The basis for award shall be base bid only, with no additive or deductive items, or no consideration of additive or deductive items. BID GUARANTEES Each bid must be submitted on the bid forms provided in the Contract Documents; however, if none are provided, the surety may issue on its own paper. Each bid must also be accompanied by security in the form of a bid bond issued by a corporate surety, a certified check or cashier's check payable to the Treasurer of Sacramento County, or cash for an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the aggregate sum of the bid. BONDS The successful bidder shall be required to execute a material and labor Payment Bond and Performance Bond, issued by a corporate surety, acceptable to the County of Sacramento, each for not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Pursuant to Public Contract Code, section 22300, the Contractor may, at its own expense, substitute securities for any money being withheld by the County to ensure performance under this contract. The Contractor must notify the County of its intent to pursue this option prior to the issuance/execution of a contract. The County of Sacramento reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in any bid, and to determine which bid, in their judgment, is the lowest responsive bid of a responsible Bidder. ALL PRE-BID QUESTIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED IN WRITING NO LATER THAN Thursday, July 25, 2024 BY 6:00 pm. Questions received after that time will not be answered. Responses will be by addenda to the bid documents. SCOPE OF WORK 1. Replace Pump & Motor for: EW-6 (Grundfos 77S75-12 pump, 460 V 4in 92959963 motor) EW-11 (Grundfos 45S50-12 pump, 460 V 4in 96405811 motor) EW-12 (Grundfos 5SQ07-270 or Franklin 5FS05S4-2W230, 230 V)* (formerly 15SQ10-220) (EW-12 pump selection will depend on availability) A qualified contractor shall replace the submersible pump and motor in EWs 6, 11 and 12 (details in table below). The contactor shall pull pump permits for this work. The replacement pumps will be furnished by DWMR. The contractor shall utilize existing drop piping for these wells. New pump shrouds (that are designed to force pump intake water to pass close to the motor) shall be furnished and installed on the replacement pumps if existing shrouds are inadequate. EW-6 does not currently have a shroud. During pump installation, the depth from well head to the top of pump and to the bottom of motor shall be recorded and reported to the Engineer. The contractor shall supply any additional mechanical equipment and components necessary for the wells to resume operation. In some cases, upstream electrical components, such as contactor relays and overload devices, may also require replacement, but these tasks will be performed by the Countys electrician, who will be made available during the pump replacement. Following replacement, new pumps must be verified to be operational and leak-free at all new connections and re-connections.
