Site work and renovation of a residential development in Chatham, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development; and for site work for a residential development.
The Municipality of Chatham-Kent is inviting proposals for the development of transitional and affordable housing solutions to address the growing need for such accommodations. The project involves constructing small individual cabins or tiny homes, inspired by the Waterloo Cabin project, to provide non-congregate style living spaces. These units will support life skills development, independent living, and self-sufficiency, with on-site support services available. This initiative is a collaborative effort among the Municipality, community organizations, and private sector partners to create lasting positive change and enhance residents well-being. - Small cabins (approx. 100 sq ft) for temporary housing (including spares) - Additional small cabins for security personnel, utilities/mechanical services, storage, and community partners - A common building (approx. 2000 sq ft) with a common area, full kitchen, laundry room, 2 washrooms, 1 staff washroom and offices. - A stand-alone washroom facility with a total of 5 (five) washrooms with showers and 2 of the 5 shall be accessible washrooms, all are to be accessible from the outside for 24-hour use.
