Question Acceptance Deadline 2024/07/18 02:00:00 PM EDT Reference Number 0000273601 The purpose of this Request for Prequalification (RFPQ) is to identify and shortlist experienced and qualified General Contractors and Civil Subcontractors (Contractors) who will be requested to submit bids for the Dokis First Nation Lagoon System Upgrades Construction Contract Dokis First Nation (DFN) covers approximately 15,785 hectares of land and is located 140 km southeast of Sudbury. Comprised of two land masses (Okikendawt Island and a southern land mass peninsula), the community is accessible by road all year round. There is no communal wastewater collection system in the Dokis First Nation. Existing homes and businesses currently have a septic system or holding tank. Holding tank waste and septage is hauled and treated by a lagoon system comprising two facultative lagoon cells with a design volume of 4,973 m3 per cell, and an original design capacity of 6.8 m3/day. The lagoon system is located at 264 Main Road within the community. DFN has noted that the lagoon system experiences emergency releases in spring due to excess accumulation of rainwater and snowmelt, as well as challenges meeting its effluent objectives for water quality. The community is also expected to grow in the next 20+ years, requiring the lagoons to be expanded to accommodate future flows. Therefore, Dokis First Nation intends to upgrade its lagoon system. Following these upgrades, the lagoon system is anticipated to have an average day capacity of 10.18 m3/day. Substantial completion of the Works will be required by July 30, 2025.
