Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Fresno, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
The scope of work includes demolition and reconstruction of curb, gutter, sidewalk and other miscellaneous improvements at public bus stops as depicted on the project plans. The Construction Allocation for Phase A (19 stops) is $490,000.00. The Department of Transportation proposes to remediate 19 bus stops located within the City of Fresno to remove the deficiencies notated in the FAX ADA Transition Plan. These deficiencies will include replacement and repairs of existing sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and general accessibility improvements. The remediation work will also serve to provide safer bus stops and an improved customer experience at each of the project stops. The environmental finding will support the FAX Division efforts to appear before the State of California Transportation Commission to request the formal funding allocation for this project. Bond Notes: All proposals must be made on the Bid Proposal Form provided by the Purchasing Manager and must be accompanied by a Bid Deposit in the amount of TEN PERCENT (10%) of the Total Net Bid Amount (or, in bids with Add Alternates, the highest possible combination of the Base Bid plus Add Alternates) in the form of a certified or cashier's check, an irrevocable letter of credit, or a certificate of deposit or a bidder's bond executed by a corporate surety, admitted by the California Insurance Commissioner to do business in California, payable and acceptable to the City of Fresno; or the Bidder shall have registered with the Purchasing Manager of the City an annual bid bond sufficient to provide coverage in such amount. All Bid Deposits will be held until a Contract has been executed with the successful Bidder or all bids have been rejected. Copies of Bid Deposits may be submitted electronically, except for a certified or cashier's check, which must be brought to the Purchasing Manager's office and labeled accordingly with bid file number prior to the bid opening. A 100 percent Payment Bond and 100 percent Performance Bond for all public works contracts must be filed with the Contract Documents and approved by the City before the Contractor enters upon performance of the Work. The City of Fresno hereby notifies all Bidders that no person shall be excluded from participation in, denied any benefits of, or otherwise discriminated against in connection with the award and performance of any contract on the basis of race, religious creed, color, national origin, ancestry, physical disability, mental disability, medical condition, marital status, sex, age, sexual orientation or on any other basis prohibited by law. This contract is funded in part by grants from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) of the United States Department of Transportation. The award of any contract is subject to the requirements of financial assistance contracts between the City of Fresno and the U.S. Department of Transportation. Although there is no specific goal or requirement to use participation by Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) for this project, The City of Fresno highly encourages the participation of Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE). The City of Fresno encourages all prime Contractors to utilize qualified SBE (Small Business Enterprise) sub-Contractors on the City of Fresno projects and promotes the direct purchase of goods from qualified SBEs by utilizing SBE/DBE vendors when such vendors are available, and the price of the goods or services sought is reasonable. The Contractor is required to comply with all terms and conditions prescribed for third-party contracts by the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Transit Administration (FTA). If FTA requires any change to this Contract to comply with its requirements, both parties agree to amend the Contract as required by FTA. If such changes cause an increase or decrease in the work to be performed by the Contractor or the time for such performance, then the compensation to be paid the Contractor and time of performance shall be equitably adjusted. The City of Fresno reserves the right to reject any and all proposals. Liquidated Damages : $1000 Per Calendar Day Project Duration: 75 Calendar Days from Notice to Proceed Type of Award : Lump Sum This work shall also include the maintenance and/or modification of existing landscape irrigation systems affected by the scope of work as shown in the plans and as required in the project specifications. At locations where no relocation of existing sprinkler systems are contemplated on the plans and the Contractor must disturb said systems in order to complete the work under this and other items of work, such as while removing concrete work and forming new concrete work, the Contractor shall temporarily cap said line and then return them to service within 48 hours. If the Contractor cannot restore service in 48 hours, then Contractor shall make provision for temporary irrigation of affected landscape every 48 hours until permanent irrigation service is restored. The method of temporary irrigation service will be approved by the Engineer. No separate payment will be made for such operations and full compensation shall be included in the amount bid for clearing and grubbing.
