Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a civil project in Kasilof, Alaska. Conceptual plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; road / highway; and water / sewer project.
This project reconstructs and upgrades a 12-mile segment of the Sterling Highway. It includes widening the highway, creating passing lanes, resurfacing, improving drainage, minor realignments, upgrading to current geometric standards, and replacing the North Fork Anchor River and Anchor River Bridges. This first phase will construct from MP 157 through 161 and include both bridges. Location - Central Region, Kenai Peninsula Engineer's Estimate Range: $60,000,000 and $70,000,000 As of October 16, 2024, the project is in Conceptual status. Anticipated letting year is May 2025.
