Reference Number 0000274017 Question Acceptance Deadline 2024/07/23 03:00:00 PM CST The Boundary Dam Power Station (BDPS) is a coal powered generating facility consisting of four (4) units and is located approximately 7 kilometers South-west of Estevan, Saskatchewan. Access to BDPS is via an all-weather paved road connecting to Highway 18. BDPS consists of three (3) 150 MW, and one (1) 300 MW generating units. All units are fired with pulverized lignite coal. During the term of this Contract, one or more of the units may be permanently removed from Service, life extended, or run to an end of life, at SaskPowers sole discretion. The Contractor will be required to supply the Work listed below for each site, when appropriate depending on the condition of motor: a) Disassemble, steam clean and oven dry components; b) Measure and record all crucial fits to ensure that they are in conformance to required OEM specifications, or where not available, NEMA specifications; c) Inspect stator windings; Perform surge and hipot tests on healthy sections of the winding; Insulation resistance (IR) and Polarization Index (PI) tests; Inspect motor lead insulation for cracks, frays, signs of brittleness, swelling from oil contamination, and overheating; Inspect the stator insulation for signs of partial discharge; Inspect stator slot wedges and end winding bracing; Perform a Stator Core loss test and inspect stator core; Count and record the number of stator slots; Perform a visual inspection of stator winding RTD/ Thermocouple wiring; Inspect the motor enclosure for defects and accumulation of oil, dust, etc. on air inlets and outlets and perform repair and/or cleaning; Inspect the rotor core for looseness, overheating, loose, cracked, or missing clamping fingers and vent duct spacers, rubs, localized heating and blocked vent ducts; Record the number of rotor bars in formal report and on motor nameplate; Visually inspect rotor shaft for spider cracks using the dye penetrant and ultraviolet light method. Conduct full run out test on motor, verify rotor shaft is straight; Notify Contract Administrator of any abnormities and document findings with photographs; If failed components are identified, the root-cause will be determined and reported to the Contract Administrator; Based on tests and inspections the Contractor shall make recommendations to the Contract Administrator on whether a reliable repair can be made. The costs and the length of the repair time for the proposed options shall be provided to the Contract Administrator at this time; For any work above the original request that the motor will require, Contract Administrator approval must be received prior to any Work proceeding; Provide formal report for all repairs and component replacements to Contract Administrator at time of pickup; Supply and install new bearings or seals where applicable; Repair any defects in the motor enclosure including air inlet and outlet screens, access covers, etc.' Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform.
