Project Engineer andy@jesik.us Replace 22 gate valves (includes fire hydrant shut off valves). Replacement valves will be 1 1/2 , 2, 4, and 6-inch mechanical joint (MJ) valves, left turn. Many of these valves are on AC Pipe. Mega lug joint restraints may crush AC pipe and are not recommended for valve replacements on AC pipe. Dresser fittings must be used when connecting to AC Pipe. Replace 6 fire hydrants. Replacement fire hydrants will be 5 1/4 " American AVK Series 2780, red color, open left. Install 1,106 LF of new 2-inch SDR21 or HDPE water main using open cut or boring methods. Install 68 LF of new 4-inch C900 Associated paving, patching, and concrete work. AWSD reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive irregularities in the Bids received, and accept any portion of any Bids if deemed most advantageous to AWSD. Non-acceptance of a Bid will mean that one or more of the other Bids were deemed more advantageous to AWSD or that all Bids were rejected. Work includes all labor, materials, equipment, services, and documentation necessary to construct the Project defined herein. The Work may include related services such as testing, start-up, and commissioning, all as required by the Contract Documents. The Contractor shall complete all Work as specified or indicated in the Contract Documents. The Project is generally described as follows: 2024 Distribution System as described in the project drawings. The Site of the Work is generally located along U.S. Highway 50 business ROW, Avondale Boulevard, 3rd Lane and Avondale Street and within county road right of ways. AWSD will assist contractor with shutting valves for the work. Contractor shall assist AWSD with notifying residents of any disruptions. Contractor shall obtain a utility permit from CDOT and a right of way (ROW) permit from Pueblo County. A traffic control plan is required for each permit. Appropriate traffic control for each location shall be provided and always maintained. Owner's representative (Jesik Consulting) will complete inspections and materials testing for the project. Any 3rd party testing by the contractor is an incidental cost and shall be incorporated into line items.
