Project Duration Three Years with Two Option Years Q&A Deadline 07/01/2024 2:00 PM (PDT) Pursuant to California Government Code sections 53060 and 4525, et seq. the San Diego Unified School District ("District") is soliciting written statements of qualifications (SOQs) from qualified firms and persons to provide mechanical and plumbing engineering services at various traditional and charter schools throughout the District. Primarily, the services will support the Facilities Planning and Construction Division's bond programs. District capital improvements are funded by General Obligation bond measures Proposition S, and Measures YY and U. The District is comprised of 175 UTK-12 school sites and serves approximately 95,011 students making it the second largest school district in California and one of the largest urban school districts in the United States. The District also authorizes 41 charter schools with some located on District-owned property. The District intends to award several as-needed contracts covering a period of three years with up to a two-year extension. These contracts may comprise multiple projects and will be authorized by individual Notice(s) to Proceed. Services may include, but not be limited to, any combination of the following: plan review and preparation, specifications, cost estimating, analysis, design, remediation, retrofit, mechanical and/or plumbing inspections, materials research, interaction with local government agencies, construction/contract administration, construction support services, bid support services, site development, applicable professional standards, and statutory requirements. SOQs from small businesses, minority-owned businesses, women-owned businesses, and disabled veteran-owned businesses are encouraged. The District also seeks to promote employment and business opportunities for local residents and firms on all contracts as such opportunities may occur and to the extent legally possible. The District reserves the right to reject any and all submissions and to waive any irregularities.
