Renovation of a municipal facility in Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 770-square-foot municipal facility.

Replacement of Historic Taylor Bray Farm Roof. removal of old and replace with new. Roof material must match as closely as possible to existing. All questions pertaining to the general nature ofthis project or to the specific requirements ofthis RFQ must be received in writing and may be addressed to the Project Manager listed in the Contact Information ofthe front page ofthis RFQ. All addendum that may be issued for this RFQ shall be acknowledged and to be included with the RFQ submission. Estimated Cost $40,000 The Town of Yarmouth Massachusetts is soliciting written proposals for the Preservation, Restoration and Alterations to the Taylor Bray Farm Cottage Roof. The Tayor Bray Farm Cottage is a historic site and structure Contractor must have a valid construction supervisor license. Unless specified elsewhere, the contractor shall be responsible for all work required for the project construction; products, and installation to complete the work; transition and adjustments; repair of damaged surfaces, finishing and cleaning. The scope of work includes all materials and equipment to complete the project o Work under this project consists ofthe removal and disposal ofroofbeing replaced o Roof is approximately 770 square feet. Remove all existing cedar roofshingles. Plywood condition under shingles is unknown. Provide new pressure impregnated preservative treated red cedar 18" shingles. Roof must be fastened with recommended manufacturing companies with stainless steel nails and all other tools and supplies needed to install a pressure treated red shingle roof by code. Provide new full coverage air infiltration barrier with seams overlapping to shed water. Cheek is white cedar shingles-2 square with 3" flange cooper. Replace step flash with cooper flashing along cheek. Electrical may be needed when removing and replacing the rake boards. Remove and replace rake boards. The contractor is responsible for pulling the building permit and must pass the building inspection. The Town will waive the building permit fee. Installation shall be per the manufacturer's instructions for the shingles and must comply with the manufacturer's requirements for stainless steel type 316 fastenings. Shingles must match the existing shingles courses. A continuous ventilation product (such as cedar breather) and felt underlay must be used. 8" Cooper strip shall be used along the ridge to minimize future moss growth. The contractor must comply with all safety laws and regulations of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the United States government and local government agencies applicable to the work under this contract. The Contractor's attention is directed to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Department of Labor, and Division of Occupational Safety Regulations. o Disposal of roof shingles and all construction debris will be at the contractor's expense. o The contractor shall clean up the work site at the end of each day. o All work will take place during normal Town business hours of 7:00am-4:00pm. o The contractor shall provide "weather protection". Meaning the temporary protection of the work adversely affected by moisture, wind. rain, and cold by covering, enclosing, and/or heating. This protection shall provide adequate working area during as determined by the Owner and consistent with the construction schedule to permit the continuous progress of all work necessary to maintain an orderly and efficient sequence of construction operations. The Contractor shall furnish and install "weather protection" material and will be responsible for all costs. The provision does not supersede any specific requirements for methods of construction, curing ofmaterial or the application conditions set forth in the contract documents with added regard to performance obligations ofthe contractor. The contractor shall assume the entire responsibility for weather protection and proper ventilation. Work damages by frost, rain or wind shall be removed and replaced by and at the contractor's expense as directed by the project manager. It is to be specifically understood that the contractor shall do no work deemed unsuitable by the contractor to the execution ofthe work. This provision shall not constitute any waiver, release or lessening ofthe contractor's obligations to bring the work to substantial completion within the period oftime set forth in the contract documents. Should high wind warnings be issued by the U.S. weather Bureau, the contractor shall take every reasonable precaution to minimize danger to person, to work and to the adjacent property. o A pre-construction meeting is mandatory and will be held with mutual consent for dates and times by the Town and Contractor. o Where required by law, contractors must possess a valid license/registration to perform services in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. A copy of any required license/registration must be submitted with the bidder's response. o Any and all work performed throughout the duration ofthe contract must be guaranteed by the contractor to be completed in a workmanship-like manner and according to applicable code and industry standards. o All rates shall be paid per Massachusetts Prevailing Wage Rate Schedule: o All invoices must include certified payroll reports.
