Renovation of a multi-residential development in Charlestown, Indiana. Completed plans call for the renovation of a multi-residential development.
As of October 16, 2024, a contractor has been awarded. timeframe for construction has been updated New Elevator for Brysonwood Apartments -A new 4 stop elevator and new shaft enclosure system shall be constructed for the Brysonwood Apartment Building, a mid-rise apartment building for the elderly. The elevator shall be located within the first and second floor footprint of the building and shall be exposed to the exterior at the top 2 floors. Sequence of the work shall be as follows: 1. Emergency monitoring systems (Fire alarm, heat, and smoke detection systems) shall not be interrupted unless the Housing Authority approves of the temporary interruption in advance and in writing. Such interruptions in protective services shall be made safe by the Contractor at all times, to the satisfaction of the Housing Authority and the local governmental authority with jurisdiction. Project time frame shall be 150 calendar days CAPITAL FUND PROGRAM IN-36P025501-22 Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check or bank draft, payable to the Charlestown Housing Authority, Charlestown Indiana. U.S. Government Bonds, or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the bidder of an acceptable surety in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the base bid plus all add alternates. The successful bidder shall be required to provide a 100% Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond before starting any work or placing materials on the job. The Bonds shall be received within ten (10) days of receipt of Notice To Proceed. Attention is called to a request that the Contractor shall make a best efforts goal to achieve a state goal of 10% minority and/or women owned business enterprise participation in this project. Bids may be held by The Housing Authority, City of Charlestown, for a period not to exceed forty five (45) calendar days from the date of the opening of Bids for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders prior to awarding the Contract. Bidders shall state in HUD Form 5369A, Article 6(d) if a longer acceptance period is offered. The Housing Authority of the City of Charlestown reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the proposal solicitation process, to the extent allowable by law. 10% minority and/or women owned business enterprise participation in this project.
