In general terms, the purpose of this procurement is to select a qualified contractor which provides the best value for the money to provide all construction and related services required for the construction of Montreal St. & John Counter Blvd. interim intersection improvements in the City of Kingston (the "Project"). (a) Civil works removals of northeast corner, southeast corner, boulevard, median and shoulder (grass, concrete curb, granular, asphalt, traffic poles, road paint markings, signs, etc) along the west and east approaches of the intersection; (b) Civil works reinstatement of removal areas with new asphalt curb, pavement, road base, road markings, pole relocations, signage, etc.; (c) Relocation of fire hydrant and placement of new valve; (d) Restricting time of work to evening hours to reduce traffic impacts; (e) City is currently reviewing whether weekend work will be permitted; (f) Associated traffic control plans for evening/weekend work.
