Surveillance System Upgrades The 2024 City of Batavia Surveillance Systems Upgrades is an initiative aimed at enhancing public safety and resilience by strategically deploying surveillance technologies in key areas of our city. Focused on large public gathering spaces, critical infrastructure, and core city services, this program will use camera systems and analytics to monitor and manage activities effectively. The surveillance infrastructure is to be strategically placed to cover high-traffic zones, ensuring the safety of citizens during major events, festivals, and gatherings. Additionally, the program prioritizes the protection of critical infrastructure, such as transportation hubs, public safety facilities, and electric substations to mitigate potential threats and disruptions. Integration with core city services facilitates swift response times in emergencies, ensuring the efficient coordination of law enforcement, emergency responders, and municipal agencies. The implementation of this program reflects a commitment to creating a secure and resilient environment, promoting public well-being, and safeguarding public functions. The City of Batavia currently operates several dozen security cameras in and around city facilities. Many of these cameras are approaching end of life or are only partially meeting the needs of public safety officials. This project is focused on three key areas: 1) Downtown Surveillance. 2) Critical Infrastructure Surveillance. 3) Upgrades to internal surveillance system.
