Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Bath, New Hampshire. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
This project will replace an existing 4' wide x 4' high x 110' long concrete box culvert carrying an un-named stream under NH 135 located approximately 150' north of Locke Rd. The proposed replacement is a 7' wide x 8' high x 110' long precast box culvert, embedded 12" with grade controls (7' x 7' open area). The proposed structure will be built in the same location and at the streambed elevation as the existing culvert, with precast headwalls and wingwalls. Incidental work includes replacement of pavement, installing a DI-D-B at Sta. 204+75 Lt, replacing existing cable guardrail with W-beam guardrail, and matching the existing stream channel to the proposed culvert. A signed detour route utilizing US 5 in Vermont shall be established to allow for the closure of NH 135 for the culvert replacement. Location: NH Route 135 Proposal Guarantee: 5% of bid amount This Project Will Replace an Existing 4 High X 4 Wide X 110 Long Concrete Box Culvert Carrying an Unnamed Stream Under Nh 135 in Bath A schedule of the minimum wages for all labor classifications as determined by the Secretary of Labor pursuant to Section 115 of the Federal Aid Highway Act of 1956 is included in the proposal. Unskilled labor may be hired from lists prepared by the NH Department of Employment Security designated in the proposal. Question Deadline 02/13/2025 Bidders Should Act Promptly and Submit All Questions Pertaining to the Project in Writing to Kirk Mudgett at Kirk.o.mudgett@dot.nh.gov at Least Five (5) Business Days Before the Hour and Date Set for the Bid Opening. No Phone Calls or Faxes Will Be Accepted. Project completion date is 10/17/2025 All individuals, firms, partnerships or corporations intending to bid, before obtaining plans and specifications, must file with the Department of Transportation on forms prepared for that purpose at least ten (10) days prior to opening of bids, a statement showing their qualifications. No valid bidding proposal will be issued to a prospective bidder who is not qualified. If contract price is $35,000 or more, the successful bidder will be required to furnish electronically, at the time of approval, a contract bond in the amount of one hundred (100) percent of their bid.
