E. Locust Street Bridge over CPKCS Railroad Rehabilitation Project For all bids over $100,000, the City of Davenport requires a Bid Bond of 5% of the bid amount. A copy of the front page of the bid bond must be attached in the "Response Attachments" tab of the bid package. Bids over $100,000, submitted without a bid bond will not be considered. For awarded bids over $100,000, the awarded contractor will be required to furnish a Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount, and said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the Contract and the terms and conditions therein contained. Working Days -The Contractor will be required to have the project substantially completed in 80 working days. Substantial completion shall include all project work with the exception of the final project seeding which may be delayed due to application restrictions. Liquidated Damages - Liquidated damages shall be $1,000.00 per day The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and irregularities, if it is deemed in the public interest to do so. Description and Completion of Work Project work includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary for the East Locust Street over CPKC Railroad Bridge Rehabilitation project, including but not limited to: Bridge and Approach Removals, PCC Approach Pavement and Patching, Bridge Deck Sealing, Abutment Diaphragm Reconstruction, Bridge Sidewalk Overhang Reconstruction, Deck Drain Extensions, Slope Protection Replacement, Concrete Repairs, and other related construction. It is recommended that Contractors become familiar with existing site conditions prior to bidding. A preconstruction meeting date will be coordinated by the City construction Project Manager. The start date shall be coordinated with the City construction Project Manager. The Contractor will be required to have the project substantially completed in 80 working day.
