The City of Covington (Owner) is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project: Floyd Street at East Street Intersection Improvements Project Questions by email should be sent to bidquestions@keckwood.com andshould include company name, contact name, email adres, andphone number The Project includes the following Work: The project will include curb & gutter bump-outs on the north/south/east/west corners of the 4-way stop-controlled intersection. Intersection pavement will be resurfaced with re-striping within the curb & gutter installation limits. Existing steps at the northeast quadrant of the intersection will be converted to an ADA compliant curb ramp. Curb ramps within the limits of curb & gutter construction are to be reconstructed to ADA complaint curb ramps Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 5 percent of the total bid amount. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 60 calendar days after opening of bids. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities. No proposal will be considered unless it is accompanied by satisfactory evidence that the Bidder holds either a Georgia State Contractor's License, or qualifications with the Georgia Department of Transportation for similar work, in compliance with Act. O.C.G.A. 43-14 and 43-41. Failure to provide the bidder's license or qualification number on the outside of the sealed proposal will result in rejection of the bid. If the Contract is to be awarded, Owner will award the Contract on the basis of the base bid alone. All required federal, state, and local permits as well as required easements or rights of way for the project have been obtained. Successful bidder shall begin the Work on receipt of the Notice to Proceed and shall complete the Work within the Contract Time of 60 calendar days. Owner shall make progress payments on account of the Contract Price on the basis of Contractor's Applications for Payment submitted once per month as provided in the General Conditions. Bidders must make positive efforts to use small and minority owned businesses.
