Closing Time: 2:00 PM (NT) Excess material/excavated material removed from cuts in order to place Class "A" and asphalt that is not used in other areas of the work to be delivered to Town's Maintenance Department. Class "A" Base layer of Class "A" to be placed and compacted prior to asphalt being laid to appropriate depth as determined by Town Staff. Tack Coat tack coat of asphaltic cement to be applied to face of existing asphalt; ordinary tar not acceptable. Existing asphalt to be clean and dry when placing tack coat and asphalt Asphalt thickness two (2) inches after compaction (min.) Tack coat entire are to be overlaid to have asphaltic cement applied; ordinary tar not acceptable; Existing asphalt to be clean and dry when placing tack coat and asphalt. Compaction In accordance to Department of Works, Services and Transportation standards. Rain - wet asphalt not to be laid while it is raining; also no asphalt to be laid if existing pavement is wet; Asphalt Temperature Asphalt to be minimum 125 degrees C, maximum 150 degrees C when laid.
