As of July 29, 2025, per owner, project has been awarded, Engineer identified. No general contractor yet. Timeframe for Contractors to be able to bid currently seems to be late 2026/early 2027 – not definite yet. Construction to begin early to mid 2027. McHenry County Division of Transportation desires to contract with a qualified engineering firm to assist the County of McHenry, as project lead, in developing Phase I Preliminary Engineering, with an option for Phase II Design Engineering services, for a multi-use path along the west side of Wilmot Road from James Road in Burton Township (Section 17, Township 46 North, Range 9 East) in McHenry County to the north end of Wilmot Road at the Illinois/Wisconsin State Line in Lake County. All work shall conform to IDOT/FHWA policies and procedures for federal aid projects and will be completed under applicable BLR and BDE Manuals. July 3, 2024 Vendor Questions due via E-Mail No Later than 12:00PM CST. Submit to dmleonard@mchenrycountyil.gov Anticipated Work Items may include, but are not limited to the following: Perform necessary survey work - drone survey capability desired and to be considered Perform drainage, floodplain, and wetland studies Prepare crash analysis & design traffic data Prepare all necessary reports, including: Location Drainage Study Wetland Report Geotechnical Report Intersection Design Study Lighting Analysis Alternatives Analysis Report Traffic Management Analysis TS&L's for underpasses Complete a Project Development Report. Perform necessary environmental coordination to secure Design Approval Prepare and submit all necessary permits (ACOE, IDNR-OWR, P&D, Village of Spring Grove, Village of Fox Lake, County of McHenry, County of Kenosha, County of Lake, - etc.) Prepare plats and legal descriptions (Phase II Task) Provide coordination for public involvement. Provide coordination with property owner, utilities, local agencies, and IDOT Pending Phase II Contract Approval - Complete the necessary Phase II plans, specifications, and estimates as required, based upon the approved Phase I design.
