Item 1 - Mobilization/Demobilization Under this Item, the CONTRACTOR shall provide all labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary and required to perform mobilization and demobilization. Work under this Item shall generally be comprised of the following: a. Setting up the necessary general plant, including shops, storage areas, CONTRACTOR's and ENGINEER's field offices, and such sanitary and other facilities as are required by local or state law or regulation. b. The cost of required insurance, bonds, permits, work schedule and subsequent updates and any other initiation of the Contract work. c. Attendance at meetings. d. Any and all required Public Notifications and shutdown notices. e. Construction schedule and updates to schedule. f. Demobilization of all temporary facilities as described herein. Removal of trash and debris generated during the duration of the Work. g. Final restoration of all staging and work areas after demobilization operations. 2. Item 2 - Maintenance and Protection of Traffic Under this Item, the CONTRACTOR shall furnish all labor, materials, tools and equipment required to provide all traffic control, flagmen, equipment and devices, barricades, etc., necessary for the completion of the work under this Contract, and as necessary to meet the requirements of the various permits issued for the Project. The work under this Item includes Maintenance and Protection of Traffic Control Plans, all required signs, electronic signs, signals, notifications and all other associated work. 3. Item 3 - Clearing and Grubbing Under this Item, the CONTRACTOR shall furnish all labor, materials, tools and equipment required to complete clearing and grubbing as indicated on the Contract Drawings and as required to complete all other aspects of the Project. The Work under these Items generally includes, but is not limited to the following: a. Clearing and grubbing as indicated on the Contract Drawings, and as required to complete the Project. b. Brush clearing shall be performed utilizing heavy duty mowing equipment or other industry standard approved methods that have been reviewed and approved by the Engineer. c. Trees and brush too large to mow/mulch shall be hand cut with chain saws and/or brush saws. d. All material cleared and grubbed shall be removed and disposed of off-site in accordance with all rules and regulations at no additional cost to the Owner. 4. Item 4 - Soil Erosion & Sedimentation Control Under this Item, the CONTRACTOR shall furnish all labor, materials, tools and equipment required to complete Soil Erosion & Sedimentation Control as indicated on the Contract Drawings and as required to complete all other aspects of the Project. The Work under these Items generally includes, but is not limited to the following: a. Provide soil erosion and sedimentation controls as shown on the Contract Drawings. b. The CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for hiring a third-party New York State licensed Professional Engineer who shall be responsible for development of a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP). This shall include obtaining required NYSDEC approvals, submitting all notices, and performing inspections of Soil Erosion & Sedimentation Controls as required. c. Provide protection of trees, shrubs, and/or plants as indicated on the Contract Drawings and as directed by the Engineer.
