Site work for a water / sewer project in Gordo, Alabama. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Relocation of potable water and natural gas mains associated with the U.S. Highway 82 Bypass Project, 100 LF of 6" PVC, Class 200 water main, 500 LF of 4" welded steel gas main, 2-4" gas main hot taps, 2-4" gas main stoppels and other ancillary items. Contract time shall be 60 consecutive calendar days from the effective date shown in the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages will be assessed for each consecutive calendar day thereafter in the amount of $300.00 per calendar day. Bidders must be qualified under Alabama Law to perform the construction activities desired by the Owner and must be registered with the State of Alabama's Licensing Board for General Contractors as appropriate. Furthermore, the successful Bidder, whether a resident or nonresident of the State of Alabama, shall be required to comply with all other applicable City, County and State licensing and/or permit laws. Proposalsshall be submitted,sealed and deposited with the Gordo Water, Gas and Sewer Board at the Gordo Water, Gas and Sewer Board office, prior to the hour and date hereinbefore designated. No bidder may withdraw his bid within ninety (90) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Each Bidder must deposit with his proposal a Bid Bond or Certified Check in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of his bid, payable to the Gordo Water, Gas and Sewer Board, as bid security. Biddersshall also submit a current financial statement, if requested by the Owner. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Payment Bond and Performance Bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. The Gordo Water, Gas and Sewer Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities or irregularities therein. Principle items of work are approximately: 100 linear feet of 6" PVC, Class 200 water main, 600 pounds of ductile iron mechanical joint fittings, 500 linear feet of 4" welded steel gas main, 2 each 4" gas main hot taps, 2 each 4" gas main stoppels and caps, 24 linear feet of 4" HDPE gas main, 4 each 4" HDPE gas main fittings. 650 linear feet of Type "A" silt fence and 722 square yards of temporary and other ancillary items. The bracket estimate for construction of this work is $250,000.00 to $300,000.00. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Written requestsfor interpretation of the Specificationsshall be submitted to the Owner at least 10 days prior to opening of Proposals so that a formal decision can be given in writing to all known prospective Bidders in the form of an Addendum
