As of 8/26/2024, Project is On Hold: Will repost at a later date. Fishing Pier Repair Work. Scope of Work Remove existing decking and handrail and disposal of materials. Install 2"x6" decking with new 4"x4" posts, 2"x6" top cap and 2"x4" top and midrails. Remove decking on floating dock and dispose of materials. Install new decking, replace pile guides on all piles with new HDPE. Install new bumper rail around entire dock with corners. New 3"x8" cross braces will be added to the front and back sets of piles under pier head. Contract Time: 60 Calendar days from issuance of Notice to Proceed. Liquidated Damages: $200 per calendar day All Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond drawn in favor of the Beaufort County Treasurer of Beaufort County, Beaufort, South Carolina, in the amount of at least five percent (5%) of the bid for the complete work: such Bid Bond representing that the Bidder, if awarded a contract, will promptly enter into a contract and furnish Performance Bond and Payment Bond as provided by law and approved by the attorney for Beaufort County, South Carolina. Each bond shall be equal one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. A copy of the Bid Bond or Certified Check must be electronically sent with your bid documents through Vendor Registry. The original Bid Bond or Certified Check must be received by the Procurement Services Department within 10 days after the bid due date. Failure on the bidder's part to provide a copy of the Bid Bond or Certified Check by the Bid closing date and time will be considered as a nonresponsive bid and rejected by the County. The Bid Bond shall be forfeited to the County Council of Beaufort County, South Carolina as liquidated damages if the Bidder fails to execute the contract and provide Performance and Payment Bonds within fourteen (14) days after being notified that he has been awarded the Contract.
