A contract awarded through this RFP ("Contract") will be effective for a period not to exceed five years, which includes four, one - year options to renew. Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) enrollment of more than fourteen thousand (14,000) students in grades TK-12th grade in a 76-square mile area that includes Altadena, Pasadena, Sierra Madre, and unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County. PUSD currently operates twenty-eight (28) schools and programs. Thirteen (13) elementary schools (grades K-5), one (1) K-8, three (3) middle schools (grade 6-8), two (2) 6-12th grade schools, two (2) high schools (grades 9-12), one (1) continuation high school, one (1) alternative education program, five (5) children centers. The Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) is inviting Proposals from qualified individuals, firms, partnerships, corporations, associations, or professional organizations for Proposals and quotes to provide Fire Alarm Testing and Maintenance Services to Pasadena Unified Schools within Pasadena, Altadena and Sierra Madre. a) Testing and Maintenance: Perform routine and annual fire alarm testing for all school sites referenced below per LBFD NFPA72 Requirements. To ensure jurisdictional compliance with inspection, testing and maintenance laws to meet the needs of local code officials. Annual testing and routine maintenance costs shall be included in the proposal. The annual required testing of the fire alarm panels, and related equipment shall be in accordance with NFPA 72 test methods and the 2019 California Fire Code. Contractors must include in their proposals a brief description of their testing methodology and the estimated time frame to perform the testing. All alarm testing shall be performed after business hours or on weekends. Contractors shall include the appropriate labor rates in their proposals. The proposed cost for service shall be the basis for the fixed cost on the individual bid items REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) No. 02-24/25 Fire Alarm System (Current/Future) Districtwide (see Bid Line Items - Mandatory Bid Forms - Bid Form Document). b) NFPA72 Certification: Shall be emailed upon completion to Pasadena Unified School District Maintenance & Operations Department, attention Director, Facilities, M&O, and Transportation. Preferably, all site inspections and testing will be performed after school hours and Saturdays while following site noise ordinance set by the school district. c) The selected Contractor shall provide to the Electrical Department M&O Designee within 30 days after contract execution with a schedule for the annual testing and maintenance services for multiple school and administration sites listed in the specifications. The Schedule shall include the estimated dates for performing testing at each site, Thirty Four (34) sites, for the duration of the contract see exhibit A. d) In accordance with the California Labor Code, only contractors with experience with NOTIFIER - HONEYWELL systems will be considered. A California C-16 Fire Protection Contractor License is required. e) On-Call Maintenance: The selected Contractor shall respond to all on-call maintenance requests for the listed alarms. Requests may include but are not limited to repairs/updating of the existing fire alarm control panels, communicators and associated control equipment, power supplies, standby batteries and chargers, annunciator stations, equipment sensors, heat detectors, duct detectors, smoke detectors, fire dampers and related sensors, tamper sensors and other pertinent equipment. Please refer to the RFP Document for the remaining scope of work f through s. The District may request interviews from the top vendors. If it is decided to conduct interviews the tentative dates are between August 21, 2024 through August 23, 2024.
