Renovation of a municipal facility in Ottawa, Ontario. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

Retrofit half of the 5th floor at 8,000 sf. The purpose of the work is to ensure that existing spaces are being adjusted to meet current needs of the courthouse operations and functionality. Spaces will include an Interview Room, with the ability to divide into two spaces - each. Pre-trial Rooms. Mediation Room, Accessible Motion rooms; 1 new, 1 relocated; 3 new clerk desks with full wall partitions, expanded Deputy Judges Day office, renovated full kitchenette. Area will require a retrofitted secure hallway layout connected to an existing hallway to accommodate the new room's structure. All areas will need new doors and hardware, space to be designed to meet security standards for items such as card access, duress buttons and video surveillance. All areas of design will require new systems furniture and chairs, this includes the public area. All new signage including the public hallway, the motion rooms will require millwork crests that match existing spaces, they should have the ability to slide. New lighting fixtures to support new layout but work with any existing cove lighting. All rooms require demising walls to meet all acoustical performance needs. Full demolition of existing space, except the existing public bathroom which remains. 4 new accessible chambers with new furniture and dedicated bathrooms, these chambers must meet acoustical requirements. New open office space with a boardroom, 5 private offices, 7 open office workstations and a new counter to interact with the public. All new signage for both public and internal spaces. All new areas will require new doors and hardware. Space to be designed to meet security standards for items such as card access, duress buttons and video surveillance. The scope includes the erection of a new wall to extend the existing secure hallway to connect with the 4 new accessible chambers. New lighting fixtures to support new layout. New kitchenette public area also requires new fixed seating. TIMELINE: A Request for Prequalification for design services has been issued by the owner. Question Acceptance Deadline: 2024/07/25 02:00:00 PM EDT. Closing date has been extended via Addendum 1. Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform.
