The project Nueces River Authority has contracted with the Coastal Bend Bays and Estuaries Program (CBBEP) to administer the On-Site Septic Facilities (OSSF) Assistance Program. This is a two-year program to provide the following services in disadvantaged communities. The contractor selected to assist NRA with this project will receive work orders from the NRA Contract Administrator to (1) replace 40 OSSF's in accordance with 30 Texas Administrative code (TAC) Chapter 285 and based on the Inspection Reports provided (2) arrange the proper disposal of the old OSSF (3) obtain the necessary permits to install the OSSF's from the Designated Representative (DR) of Jim Wells and San Patricio Counties (4) create and submit the documents that are required by the Counties to obtain the OSSF permits (5) complete the project until the DR passes the final inspection and issues the "Authorizationto- Operate" for each OSSF. (6) The Contractor shall display a sign (provided) by the Coastal Bend Bays & Estuaries Program) during the replacement of the OSSF identifying the project funding source as President Biden's Bipartisan Law. The project will be implemented in the Colonias located in Jim Wells, Nueces, and San Patricio Counties with the prioritized focus being on the Colonia's with the closest proximity to receiving water bodies, such as creeks, streams, and rivers. The expected outcome of the project is improved water quality in the Coastal Bend through load reduction of both bacteria and nutrients.
