Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Orland Park, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility; for site work for a fire / police facility; and sidewalk / parking lot.
The Orland Fire Protection District is soliciting bids to replace roof shingles at Station 3. 1. All work should be in accordance with the attached scope of work. 2. Protect the surrounding area, including sidewalks, parking lot, and vegetation. The contractor shall maintain a safe work area around the facility. 3. Remove the present roof system down to the deck and place it into debris boxes to be removed from the premises. 4. Any necessary deck repair work will be performed on a time and material basis. The project manager must approve this in writing. 5. The contractor shall replace the roof using the specified materials and following the latest IBC standards. 6. Cover the entire roof with #30lb felt paper. 7. Install an Owens Corning Weather Ice and Shield (Or Similar product) 6ft. upslope from the gutter edge and 3ft. wide in all closed valley areas, providing. 8. Install an Owens Corning Pro Starter (Or similar product) on all eaves and rakes. 9. Replace existing shingles with Owens Corning "Duration" shingles (or a similar product). The Fire District must approve all materials. 10. Replace existing vents. 11. Flashing of all roof penetrations. 12. Install slip flashing on the shingle to flat roof transition and all other flashings needed to complete the installation correctly. 13. Remove all tools, roofing equipment, and debris upon completion. 14. The contractor shall provide a 25-year manufacturer's warranty covering contractor workmanship and expanded product coverage. Bidders may, in writing, ask questions or request clarification about this Invitation to Bid (the "ITB"). Any bid received after the time and date specified for opening, or any postponement thereof, will not be considered. Bids shall be irrevocable for at minimum sixty (60) calendar days after the District opens them. Performance Bond - The successful bidder shall furnish a Performance and Payment Bond (Bond) equal to 100 percent of the total contract amount within 30 days of the notice of award. Such Bond shall be in a form acceptable to the Owner and issued by a surety company included within the Department of Treasury's Listing of Approved Sureties (Department Circular 570) with a minimum A.M. Best Financial Strength Rating of A and Size Category of XV. In the event of a bond issued by a surety of a lesser Size Category, a minimum financial Strength rating of A+ is required. The District award will be made within sixty (60) calendar days after the date of the bid opening, or any mutually agreed extension thereof. The District reserves the right to terminate the relationship with the successful Bidder if these documents are not submitted to and approved by the District within ten (10) days of notice of bid award.
