The City of Newport Fire Station No.5 is located at 119 Touro St. Newport, in Newport Rhode Island. Station No.5 was built in 1895, and is a brick-and-mortar structure with original windows and roof. This building is a significant contributor to the historic fabric of the City and all work should be done to preserve this. The following scope of work will be completed as part of this project: A. Contractor is responsible for all debris disposal, tools, and equipment necessary to complete all aspects if this scope B. All work is to be done to current building codes and manufacture installation guidelines C. All nails and screws should be stainless steel D. Remove current slate shingles from the roof E. Stack all intact slate shingles on pallets to be moved and stored by owner F. Remove and dispose of underlayment G. Replace any rotted or undermined roofing substrate H. Remove and replace flashing at chimneys (no steel, must be rated for salt water conditions) I. Remove rubber roof and flashing J. Supply and Install new rubber roof and flashing K. Seal flashing at chimneys L. Remove and replace flashing/ sealant around any piping penetrating the roof M. Remove and replace any step, head, or counter flashing N. Install new drip edge O. Install new underlayment to code P. Install new synthetic Slate per manufacture guidelines Q. Remove and dispose of wood gutters R. Install new wood gutters and flashing (reuse copper downspouts) S. Add one downspout on southwest corner T. Install new lining withing the wood gutters U. Remove wood soffits V. Install new soffit to match previous W. Remove and replace facia X. Repoint Chimney Y.
