Amtrak is initiating the procurement to select an General Contractor ("GC") to perform construction services for the installation of a new train car wash in Goleta, California. Project Engineer: Project Engineer's status relative to the construction will be delineated in writing by the Contracting Officer prior to the pre-construction conference. "COTR" (Contracting Officer's Technical Representative) is corresponding term in General Provisions. Where the Specifications refer to the "Owner" it shall mean the Project Engineer, who is representing AMTRAK and acting as agent for the "Owner" for the Work during construction. 3. Project construction will be administered by AMTRAK 30th Street Station - 4 th Floor SW, 2955 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104. 1.4 WORK COVERED BY CONTRACT DOCUMENTS A. The Work of the Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of, but not limited to, the following: 1. The demolition and disposal of the existing car wash system equipment consisting of: storage and process tanks, spray and rinsing arches, pumps, process piping, rotating brush assemblies, blower assemblies, and any miscellaneous equipment located inside the car wash facility; work includes any associated electrical, control panels and wiring, mounting concrete saw cutting, and miscellaneous materials, etc., as shown in the plans and specified herein to have a complete and operational system. 2. Supply and installation of new car wash system equipment, including but not limited to the supply of Bulk Storage Tanks, Water Storage Tanks, Mixing Tanks, Mixers, Process Pumps, Acid Arch, Brush Modules, High Pressure Arch, RO Arch, Blower System, Splash Walls, Wash Control Center, Motor Control Center, Human Machine Interface Panel, Air Control Panel, Instrumentation, Float Switches, Transmitters, and including all associated equipment, motors, and materials, etc., shown on the plans and specifications to have a complete and operational system 3. Installation of a new foundation, concrete apron, curb, transition slab, swale, including, reinforcements, equipment support pads, rail installation, and including all materials, excavation, equipment, testing, characterization of soils for disposal, disposal of allexcavated soils, supply of new backfill material, shoring, etc., as shown on the plans and specifications to have a complete and operational system. 4. Installation of drain line including, materials, piping, equipment, testing, characterization of soils for disposal, disposal of all excavated soils, supply of new backfill material, excavation, shoring, etc., as shown on the plans and specifications to have a complete and operational system. 5. Creation and implementation of programming to operate the car wash system as a whole and required modes of operation for the car wash as determined by the Owner.
