As of August 27, 2024, this project and RFP has been recalled and will be re-bid at a later date. Tillis Building Roof Replacement Salem Community College is looking to replace the shingled portion of the Tillis building roof and resurface/coat the flat roofed portion. Below is the scope of work that has been prepared by the college with the help of a third-party vendor. Salem Community College encourages all interested vendors to make their own inspections of the roof and building, and to attend the pre bid meeting for any questions, however the pre bid meeting is not mandatory. Sloped Roofing Area: o Tear off existing shingles. o Install 225-250 lb. Architectural shingles over synthetic underlayment over existing wood deck. - At gutter edge (3' perimeter) and valley install Ice and Water Shield. - Install .032 aluminum valley metal at valley. - At large valleys install .060 EPDM fully adhered over 1/2" insulation. - Install a roll ridge vent at roof peak. - Install hip and ridge shingles equivalent to Timber Tec or approved equal. - Install .032 aluminum counter flashing and step flashing where needed. - Install .032 aluminum facia metal. - Install .032 aluminum 6K seamless gutters. - Install .032 aluminum diverters where needed. - Shingled material should have 30-year Limited Lifetime warranty or equivalent - Metal should have a 30 Year Paint Finish warranty or equivalent Flat Roofed Area: - Power wash and thoroughly clean roof. - At all seams of existing roof pre-prep with flashing grade (butter grade) roof coating and fleece fabric. - Install base coat acrylic coting over butter grade material. This will take (12) hoursto dry and cure. - Install top coat of roof coating over base coat. - The College would like a 10 Year Manufacturer's material warranty on the flat roof portion.
