The Township of Carneys Point is proposing to improve an existing public park located at the intersection of Shell Road (Route 130) and Bay Street. The project will include reconstruction an existing four-foot-wide asphalt walking path (2,050 linear feet), the construction of several new segments of four-foot-wide asphalt walking paths (330 linear feet), and the construction of a new playground (3,600 square feet). The construction will include several other items for ADA compliance such as concrete ADA ramps, minor regrading, and two ADA parking spaces. Site preparation will include asphalt removal, asphalt milling, and demolition of the existing playground. Bids will be received for a minimum of 21 days from the date of public notice prior to the opening of bids. Question Deadline 01/30/2025 Bids shall be on a lump sum and unit price basis, as indicated in the Bid Form. The Owner will award the Contract to the lowest responsible Bidder. Bids must be enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the bidder's name and address labeled "BID for the DUNN'S PARK ADA IMPROVEMENT PROJECT" and addressed to the Township of Carneys Point, 303 Harding Highway, Carneys Point, NJ 08069, Attention: June Proffitt, Municipal Clerk. If forwarded by mail, the sealed envelopes containing the bid must be enclosed in another envelope addressed to the Township of Carneys Point. Bids must be accompanied by a Certificate of Surety from an acceptable surety and a bid security in the form of a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond payable to the Township of Carneys Point in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid amount but not in excess of $20,000.00. The Township of Carneys Point will award the Contracts or reject the bids within sixty (60) municipal days after the date of the bid opening. Should there be any reason the contracts cannot be awarded within the specified period, the time may be extended by mutual agreement between the Township of Carneys Point and the bidders. The successful bidder must furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in the amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. The Township of Carneys Point and the Engineer reserve the right to require a complete financial and experience statement from the prospective bidders showing that they have satisfactorily completed work of the nature required before furnishing proposal forms or specifications, or before awarding the contract. The Township of Carneys Point reserves the right to reject any and all bids in whole or in part, and to waive any informalities or minor defects therein, should it be deemed in the best interest of the Township of Carneys Point. The right is also reserved to increase or decrease the quantities specified in the manner designated in the specifications. A Pre-Bid conference has not been scheduled for this project.
