Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Wood River, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

The work shall consist of removal and replacement of approximately 30,400 SF ofexisting sidewalk in various locations throughout Wood River. All proposals must be made on forms furnished bythe City, and the entire set of documents submitted intact. The City ofWood River reserves the right to not open asole bid and to waive, ornot to waive, any irregularities inthe bids and to determine which isthe lowest and best bid for the work. The scope of work under this contract includes furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to sawcut, remove, properly dispose of concrete sidewalks, drives, and curb; and construct the sidewalk, driveways and curb improvements as specified herein. The contractor shall be responsible for determining all methods, equipment, investigations, layout and supervision to achieve the end product. The contractor shall perform all work on this project to the satisfaction of the Director of Public Services. Major items of work shall be paid for at an appropriate contract unit price for each item specified in the "Schedule of Prices" herein. All other items of work such as mobilization, cleanup, restoration, etc. and non-work items such as bonds, insurance, etc. shall not be paid for separately but shall be considered as incidental to the cost of the construction. All work, materials, and equipment shall be subject to the appropriate requirements specified herein, the "Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction" in Illinois, adopted January 1, 2022 the latest edition of the 'Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways", and the "Manual of Test Procedures for Materials" in effect on the date of invitation for bids. SECTION 3.2: SCHEDULING The contractor shall notify resident or business 48 hours before starting work within their property frontage and the Director of Public Services 24 hours before starting any work. The contractor shall coordinate any work that results in restriction of access to the owner's property with the owner of the property. Maximum closure for driveways, alleys, or streets shall be seven (7) calendar days. First location for sidewalk improvements shall be the Roundhouse, 633 N Wood River Ave, Wood River, IL 62095.
