The work for which bids are requested includes, but not necessarily limited to, furnishing all labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary for the delivery and application of asphalt sealcoat products on county highways. The bid will include sealcoating approximately 280,000 SY of asphalt pavement. All work will be issued under a single prime contract for general construction. BID, PERFORMANCE AND PAYMENT BONDS: Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bank cashier's check as bid security, in the sum of five percent (5%) of the bid, payable to as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, a Contract will be entered into and its performance properly secured within ten (10) days of the award of Contract. In case the successful bidder shall fail to execute the Contract, the amount of the bid security shall be forfeited to as liquidated damages. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price and submitted to the Highway Department prior to the commencement of the work.
