Site work for a water / sewer project in Franklin, Kentucky. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The City of Franklin is accepting bids for Utility Service and Repairs for utility projects that may come about during the period covered by the contract. This bid is to establish hourly rates (including equipment cost with mobilization) applicable to these projects that have been competitively and publicly bid. For a contractor to perform these Utility Service and Repair projects bidders may not interpret this agreement as the sole contractor to perform all work for the City of Franklin. The City of Franklin will directly purchase project materials and for which the contractor will not receive compensation for. In the event of an emergency and the City of Franklin does not have the materials needed but said contractor does then the City of Franklin will reimburse the contractor for the materials used at cost. This bid will be a contract for ten months from September 30, 2024, to July 30, 2025 Things you need to know about the City of Franklin Water & Wastewater System o Two - 1-million-gallon storage water tanks: Quail Ridge, Williamsburg. o The city has a little over 120 miles of water mains. 5400 water meters and approximately 600 fire hydrants. o Water line sizes range from 3/4 " to 12". o 80% of all water leaks are service line leaks. o 20% of the water leaks are main line leaks working with cast iron. o The city does water taps up to 2". o Fire hydrants are flushed twice a year for water quality. o The Fire Department does flow test once a year for ISO purposes. o The City of Franklin's Wastewater Collection System has over 103 miles of sewer line. These sewer lines range from 6" to 36". Our sewer lines are made of clay, ductile iron, and PVC. The deepest sewer line is 25' deep. We also have 1700 manholes, which are made of brick or concrete. The City of Franklin, Kentucky reserves the right to reject any and all bids received, and to select that bid which it determines to be in its best interest. The award of this bid will be made on the basis of the lowest evaluated bid price meeting specifications as permitted in KRS 45A.365.
