In general, the project includes approximately 340feet of 8" PVC gravity sewer, 485 feet of 12" PVC gravity sewer, manholes,800 feet of 6" welded steel high pressure gas main,140 feet of 2" PE low pressure gas main, grassing, and clean up. Proposals shall be accompanied by a bid bond or a cashier's check in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid price or $10,000payable without recourse to the City of Florence, AL Check or bid bond shall be provided as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a contract and execute performance and payment bonds within fourteen (14)days after Notice of Award. The successful bidder shall furnish a performance bond in the amount of100% of the contract price and payment bond in the amount of 50% of the contract price upon the forms provided. Performance and Payment Bonds shall be from an approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Alabama to act as surety This project is considered a "Public Works" project and is governed by competitive bid laws as contained in Title 39 (1997) of the Alabama Code. Bidders, subcontractors, suppliers, and Bond Agents should be familiar with this code. The attention of all Bidders is called to the provisions of State law governing "General Contractor", as set forth in ALA.CODE 34-8-1,et seq. (1975), and rules and regulations promulgated pursuant there to. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive irregularitiesin the bids and bidding deemed to be in the best interests of the Owner, and to reject non-conforming, non-responsive, or conditional bids. No Bidder maywithdraw his bid withinsixty days from the date setfor receiving the bids.
