The Total Contract Time will be 365 consecutive calendar days and the liquidated damages will be $700 per consecutive calendar day thereafter. A bid bond or a certified cashier's check in the amount of 5% of the total bid price is required. Minority and women's business enterprises are solicited to bid on this contract as prime contractors and are encouraged to make inquiries regarding potential subcontracting opportunities and equipment, material, and/or supply needs. Any contract or contracts awarded under this invitation for bids are expected to be funded in whole or in part by anticipated funds from the Mississippi Municipality & County Water Infrastructure Grant Program (MCWI) and the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC). This procurement will be subject to all applicable sections of the Mississippi Code of 1972, Annotated, as they apply to local governments, in accordance with MCWI and ARC Regulations. The City of West Point reserves the right to amend the specifications and contract documents as necessary prior to bid and agrees to notify all having requested bid packets. The City of West Point reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids and to waive any and all informalities. The City of West Point, Mississippi hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex, religion or national origin in consideration for an award. The Mayor and Board of Aldermen reserve the right to accept or reject any and all bids and to waive any and all informalities. Bids are to be stated for the construction of a tank and well and all other related items of work required to complete the project as shown and specified in the Contract Documents.
