The project is located at Engineering 2 building at the University of Waterloo, and generally includes the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of a medium voltage transformer within the existing substation. Contractors are invited to bid provided they demonstrate that they are currently on a Vendor of Record list for any Post-secondary Education Institution or Publicly Funded School Board for projects over $1M in construction value (excl HST). Currently, the existing 600 V transformer has reached the end of life and requires replacement. The scope of work includes the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of a medium voltage transformer within the existing substation. The transformer is replacing an existing transformer within the existing switchgear line-up and is close-coupled to both the primary and secondary equipment.
