The Consultant is to prepare the schematic design program, design development (per site-specific conditions, cost estimating, construction documents, procurement/bidding assistance, and construction phase services for the annual PLU pavement improvement projects. All aspects of design shall meet the current Americans with Disabilities Act Guidelines (ADAAG). Contract executed: By Friday, 10/25/2024 The County has established annual pavement improvement projects based on evaluation and recommendations from an annually reported pavement management system. It is anticipated that the next few years of pavement improvement projects will focus on the sidewalks, roads and parking lots at several different Waukesha County facilities including the Pewaukee Lake Boat Launch, Muskego Park, the Waukesha County Administration Center, the Waukesha County Health and Human Services campus, and the Waukesha County Exposition Center, however, available budget and adherence to our policy of providing safe and accessible facilities will dictate what projects are designed, bid and constructed annually. The Scope of Services included within this RFP represents The County’s anticipated plan for pavement improvements through 2027. The County reserves the right to amend the Scope of Services as necessary, via contract change order. To streamline the design process, to prepare qualified phasing and design recommendations for multi-year implementation, and to provide consistency between implementation phases, the County has decided to award this project as a three-year contract with an option for a one-year extension. Collectively, these projects afford an opportunity to explore not only traditional pavement design applications, but also ways to enhance site circulation, drainage, functionality, and to incorporate sustainable design methods and features for the long-term viability of the facilities. Elements for consideration include: • Familiarity with local and state regulations and processes • Universally accessible design • Innovations in storm water management • Current trends in pavement design and construction that can decrease construction costs and/or extend usable life. • Effective strategies in project determination, coordination, and phasing to maximize efficiencies and minimize impacts. • High-quality and cost-effective staffing for both design and construction oversight services.
