Renovation of a transportation facility in Cumberland, Maryland. Completed plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility.

The successful contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, tools, materials, and supplies required to replace the corroded high mast light wiring and electrical junction boxes. In addition, the replacement of the aircraft obstruction lights and repair/replace the associated corroded wiring, boxes, etc. at the Western Correctional Institution (WCI), 13800 McMullen Hwy SW, Cumberland, MD 21502, United States. All Minority Business Enterprises are encouraged to respond to this solicitation. This is for Small Business Reserve vendors only. Please refer to the following link for more information regarding SBR certification The Project Cost Classification for this solicitation is: Small Procurement Category III, under $200,000. Minority Business Enterprises are encouraged to respond to this Solicitation. Bid prices are irrevocable for a period of 120 days following bid opening. After opening bids, the Procurement Officer may request bidders to extend the time during which the State may accept their bids, provided that, with regard to bids, no other change is permitted. The following bonds are required if the Contract Amount, including Unit Prices, Allowances and Alternates as applicable, is in excess of $100,000.00. 1) Bid Bond in the amount of 5% 2) Payment and Performance Bonds in the amount of 100% The work shall be completed within 60 calendar days from the start date of the contract. If the work is not completed within the time period specified, the contractor will be liable for liquated damages of $250.00 per calendar day as specified in the "General Conditions". The deadline for questions has been established as August 8th, 2024 , at 2PM to assure that there is enough time to allow the A/E to provide responses and Addendum issuance if necessary. Please submit all questions to the Procurement Officer responsible for your solicitation online (Lakecia.Dingle@maryland.gov , Samantha.Delp@maryland.gov and Elsie.Bateman1@maryland.gov A. This Contract requires complete electrical repair on top of seven (7) high mast light poles in the WCI open field. The Contractor shall be responsible for all work related to providing a fully operational lighting system as specified. The work shall include, but not be limited to: removal of the existing corroded electrical boxes - two (2) per pole or fourteen (14) in total, for the high mast lights and any corroded wiring. Installation of two (2) new 10" x 12" x 6" stainless steel boxes and related wiring. Supply and install code compliant steady burningdouble aircraft obstruction lights and fixtures, cast aluminum housing, aviation red & threaded globes with gasket seal for 120v application, one double on the top of each pole, seven (7) poles or a total of seven (7) double lights. The fixture must use stainless steel (ss) hardware and safety cable attached from the fixture to the globe. The removal and replacement of corroded wiring or conduit to comply with the manufacturer specifications and applicable codes. The permits, labor, materials, services, supplies, electrical hookup and testing must be completed by a licensed electrician and all moving, rigging and transportation services for existing and new equipment is the responsibility of the awardee and included in the base bid. B. Any and all equipment installed and any and all work performed shall be in accordance with the standards established by: a. Occupational Health and Safety (OSHA) b. National Electric Code (NEC) c. Basic National Building Code (BOCA) d. US Military Specifications & USAF ANA Standards e. All work performed is to meet all state and local code standards. C. The work of this project shall be performed as a construction contract. Without intending to limit or restrict the extent of Work required, the Work is summarized in this project manual. D. It is the Contractor's responsibility to establish the proper placement of the equipment to be installed. The Contractor will ensure that the specified equipment can be installed in the available space to effect a legal and properly functioning system
