Renovation of a mixed-use development in Jefferson, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The project consists of the addition of ground or roof mounted photovoltaic panels at the Greene County High School, Middle School and Elementary School along with associated electrical upgrades to tie into existing electrical services. The High School PV array will be ground mounted on the western portion of the property adjacent to parking lots with an approximate size of 960 kW DC. The Elementary School will be a roof mounted, ballasted PV array system, approximate size is 400 kW DC. The Middle School is not yet finalized and may be either be ground or roof mounted or some combination of both with around a +/- 500 kW DC capacity. There will be separate bid alternates for the addition of battery storage at each of the three sites. Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) benefits and funding will be utilized which will require support from the construction team for the Owners reporting and documenting requirements. The IRA funding will require the project to be broken into (3) sub-projects for construction, administrative and reporting purposes. There will likely be some minor site and construction work to support the installation of the photovoltaic system on and/or adjacent to the buildings at the three different locations Project Location: Greene County High School, 1901 N Grimmell Rd, Jefferson, IA 50129 Greene County Middle School, 101 Ram Dr, Jefferson, IA 50129 Greene County Elementary School, 401 E Russell St, Jefferson, IA 50129 Scope Package Index: Potential sub-bidders are providing SOQs to prequalify for one or more of the following Scope Packages that are part of this advertisement: Scope Package No. 16-1 - Electrical and Photovoltaic Work: This package shall consist of the electrical and photovoltaic work at the three different sites. It is anticipated that this subcontractor will complete the foundation and racking design to be coordinated with their components as well as completing the permitting and application process with Alliant Energy as necessary for the addition of the new photovoltaic systems and tie into the buildings utility services. Question Deadline 03/06/2025 at 5:00 PM CT Requests for Clarifications and Questions: Please submit all questions directly to Story Construction at estimating@storycon.com or skutchen@storycon.com. The design will be completed in conjunction with the Prequalification Process and bidding documents will be issued later in March 2025 shortly after the close of the qualification period. With Sub-bids anticipated to be received from pre-qualified bidders by mid-April 2025. The procurement, permitting and submittal process would begin shortly after bidding, assuming starting in early to mid-May. Onsite construction would begin in late summer after completion of the Alliant Energy application process, unless the procurement and/or application/permitting processes could be expeditated. Completion of construction with startup and tiein of systems would be in the late fall with installation of the battery storage alternates, if accepted, possibly later due to anticipated lead time of the batteries.
