Saving Project...

Renovation of a detention facility in Freehold, New Jersey. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.

In addition to the above Scope of Work this RFP also includes the design of new open screen roof structure elements over the outdoor inmate yards located in the center of each of seven (7) inmate pods. The open screens shall be similar in type to a chain link fence or other owner approved open screen material. The purpose of the screen roof structures is to prevent contraband from being thrown or dropped into the outdoor inmate yards. Preliminary concept investigations by Monmouth County Engineering include: • A contraband prevention netting system made from nylon, Polypropylene, polyethylene, or other material, installed in a horizontal configuration and attached with tension cabling. • Various material options attached to a metal deep truss system spanning the yards. • Various material options attached to a PT truss frame system, triangular or box shaped, in an arched roof truss shape or other three-dimensional straight truss member framing system with quicklock type connection system As part of the 1991 additions and renovations to the correctional institution, inmate houses pods were constructed with high parapet masonry screen walls at the outermost corners of the new pod roofs *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project.
