Renovation of a detention facility in Springfield, South Dakota. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 3,850-square-foot detention facility.

Each Bid in excess of $100,000.00 must either Pre-Mail a certified check, cashier's check, or draft in the amount of 5% of the base bid and all add alternates and drawn on a State or National Bank to the Office of the State Engineer, Joe Foss Building, 523 East Capitol Ave, Pierre, SD 57501-3182, or upload a copy of their 10% bid bond to their electronic bid issued by a surety authorized to do business in the State of South Dakota and made payable to the Bureau of Human Resources and Administration of the State of South Dakota. The purpose of this project is to solicit bids for design-bid-build from qualified roofing companies to properly replace the 3,850 square foot roof in Springfield, South Dakota inside Mike Durfee State Prison in accordance with the project specifications. The base bid will include replacement and properly disposing of the 3,850 SqFt of roofing material. If requesting overages, a request needs to be made prior to additional work taking place he Owner Project Requirement (OPR) of the project is to properly remove and dispose of the end of life roofing material on the Armory building at Mike Durfee State Prison. The completed roof should be free of imperfections and leaks while adhering strictly to the project specifications. 2.1 Acquire right-of-entry permission from the Department of Corrections to enter the site and perform the required work. Department of Corrections contact information: Rob Caruana, Physical Plant Manager Mike Durfee State Prison Department of Corrections 1412 Wood Street Springfield, SD 57062 605.941.0183 The current roof was last replaced in 1998/1999, the past records indicate the following roof construction for demolition cost estimating purposes. o 60 mil fire rated EPDM Roofing Membrane Fully Adhered o Two layers of 1-1/2" polyisocyanurate insulation o 1/2 " High density overlay insulation mechanically fastened to roof deck o Steel Deck The Approximate area of replacement is 3,850 SqFt.
