Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of 10% of the total amount bid. The successful Bidder shall furnish as performance security a Performance Bond acceptable to the Village prior to the start of any work. The bond shall be in the sum of 100% of the contract amount. The performance bond shall: 1) serve as security for faithful performance of the work; and 2) guarantee the work against defective workmanship and material for a period of not less than one (1) year following acceptance of the work. For contract awards that are less than $100,000.00, a Letter of Credit, in a form suitable to the Village, may be submitted as performance security, instead of a Performance Bond.
