DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK: In general, the work is comprised of carpet removal, preparation of subfloor, installation of new carpet tile and broadloom, and steam-cleaning tile and grout adjacent to the carpet installation areas. Proposals must be accompanied by a proposal guarantee consisting of either cash, a cashier's check, a certified check or bid bond payable to the CITY in the minimum amount of ten percent (10%) of the total amount bid. Any proposal not accompanied by such a guarantee will not be considered. The Contractor may elect to receive 100 percent of payments due under the Contract Documents from time to time, without retention of any portion of the payments by the City, by depositing securities of equivalent value with the City in accordance with the provisions of Section 22300 of the Public Contract Code. The wage rates applicable to this Project are the State of California Department of Industrial Relations prevailing rates of per diem wages.
