Demolition, site work and addition to an educational facility in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the addition of a 20,884-square-foot, one-story above grade educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
Joyce Kilmer Elementary School 2024 Preschool Expansion Addition and Estelle V. Malberg Early Childhood Center 2024 New PK Classroom Toilet Rooms and Preschool Expansion Addition. It is expressly understood that the Bidder is responsible for getting the bid to the Business Administrator by the time and date set for the bid opening The Project consists of a Preschool Expansion Addition to Joyce Kilmer Elementary School, 2900 West Chapel Avenue, Cherry Hill, New Jersey 08002; and New PK Classroom Toilet Rooms and a Preschool Expansion Addition at Estelle V. Malberg Early Childhood Center, 1220 Winston Way, Cherry Hill, New Jersey 08034. . Pre-School Expansion Additions for Joyce Kilmer Elementary School and Estelle V. Malberg Elementary School Project consists of construction of a new addition including link corridor, (8) eight Pre-School Classrooms with integral toilet rooms and associated support spaces at (2) two existing elementary schools. a. Site Work - The Project work includes site improvements at and around the proposed addition locations at each school. Site work varies based on location of addition and existing site conditions. It includes the removal of all existing features around the addition and includes all necessary earth work for the building addition and site improvements It shall include all necessary stormwater drainage improvements, utility improvements, sidewalks, pavements, Playground installation (Kilmer), shade structure relocation (Kilmer) and various other improvements. See Site Drawings for details. b. General Construction - The Project work includes masonry bearing walls with brick veneer to 16'-0" at main structure. Roof structure consists of steel joist trusses bearing on masonry construction. Roof construction is sloped steel bar joist and metal deck roof structure with EPDM membrane roofing system over rigid insulation. c. Mechanical Construction - The Project work includes (2) two new variable volume rooftop units with hot water heating coils and VAV boxes fed from the existing building's boiler system with new pumps and piping serving the spaces within the addition. Other mechanical equipment includes exhaust fans and hydronic heaters. The Contractor shall integrate all new equipment into the existing facility's Building Management Control System. d. Plumbing Construction - The Project work includes all items required to construct (8) eight single occupant toilet rooms. Scope includes tying new work into existing sanitary and water supply lines. Review drawings for sanitary lift-station requirements e. Electrical Construction - The Project work includes new Electrical Panels, data conduits, fire alarm, electrical feeders, circuits and connections for new HVAC systems, lighting and power throughout the addition integrated into the existing facility as shown on the Contract Documents. f. Asbestos Abatement - See TTI Environmental Inc.'s Scope of Work Summary contained within the Specifications for the requirements of the removal of asbestos containing material . PK Classroom Toilet Rooms at Estelle V. Malberg Elementary School Project consists of renovations to (13) thirteen existing classrooms to convert to pre-school classrooms which requires the construction of single fixture toilet rooms within each of the (13) thirteen existing classrooms. a. Site Work - Refer to site drawings for sanitary sewer connections lines, ejector pumps and improvements outside the building footprint b. General Construction - The Project work includes metal stud and gypsum partition walls to underside of existing deck with ceramic tile at toilet room walls. c. Mechanical Construction - The Project work includes new exhaust fans at each toilet room to be side wall vented d. Plumbing Construction - The Project work includes all items required to construct (13) thirteen single occupant toilet rooms. Scope includes tying new work into existing sanitary and water supply lines. Review drawings for sanitary lift-station requirements. e. Electrical Construction - The Project work includes new Electrical Panels, Feeders, Circuits and Connections for new exhaust fans, lighting and power in each of the classrooms. Prospective Bidders are advised that this Project is one which will be subject to and will be governed by provisions of New Jersey law, including, but not limited to, those regarding (a) Prequalification of Bidders (N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-26 et seq.); (b) Prevailing Wage Rates (N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.25 et seq.); (c) Use of Domestic Materials, (N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-20); and (d) Ownership Disclosure Certification, (N.J.S.A. 52:25-24.2). The Public Works Contractor Registration Act, N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.48 et seq., requires that the Bidder and named Prime Subcontractors must be registered at the time of Bid. The Bidders shall submit, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-18(b)(2), one Lump Sum Bid for all the work and materials. Bidders must be pre-qualified by the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction (DPMC) with at least the DPMC classification associated with the work they intend to directly perform or, if Bidder will not directly perform any work, with DPMC classification C006, C008, or C009. Bidders' Prime Subcontractors, defined as those listed in N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-18, must be pre-qualified by DPMC with the DPMC classification associated with the work they intend to directly perform or subcontract. The Bidder and named Prime Subcontractors must be pre-qualified prior to the date that bids are received. The Owner is requesting that copies of the Public Works Contractor Registration Certificates for Bidder and its named Prime Subcontractors be included in the Bidder's Bid Package, but the Bidder must provide copies of the Certificates no later than the time of award. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 52:32-44 all business organizations that do business with a local contracting agency, including Bidders and Named Prime Subcontractors, are required to be registered with the State through the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Revenue. The Owner is requesting that copies of the Registrations for Bidder and its Named Prime Subcontractors be included in the Bidder's Bid Package, but the Bidder must provide proof of such Registrations prior to the award of the Contract. In addition, each Bid Package must include a certificate from a surety company stating it will provide said Bidder with a bond in such sum as required by N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-25. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the dates set for the opening thereof. The right is reserved to reject all bids pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-22 or to waive minor informalities, defects, and non-material exceptions. Bidders are required to comply with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27-1.1 et seq. Prospective bidders are advised that the Project is subject to a Project Labor Agreement (PLA). The successful bidder and its subcontractors (of any tier) will be bound by the terms and conditions of the PLA. After award and prior to commencement of the work, the successful bidder and its subcontractors (of any tier) must also execute the Letter of Assent in the form provided.
