Assumption Parish Police Jury (APPJ) is issuing a Request for Qualifications (RFQs) from individuals and/or firms interested in providing professional services for the engineering and design of the Bayou St. Vincent Project in Assumption Parish. This project will utilize principles of Natural Channel Design when appropriate to restore or recreate the original shape and structure of Bayou St. Vincent, with a primary emphasis on enhancing drainage capabilities and capacity. The key objectives will involve reintroducing natural channel features such as meanders, riffles, and pools, which are known to facilitate efficient water flow and effectively reduce the risks of flooding. Through the implementation of Natural Channel Design, the project aims to emulate the patterns and processes found in healthy, functioning ecosystems that naturally optimize drainage systems.
