The City of Portage ("City") is seeking bids to upgrade and replace the HVAC system at Fire station 1/Headquarters. However, no Bid may be withdrawn for Thirty (30) days after the scheduled time for opening, unless written consent of the City is first obtained, or as otherwise specifically permitted by law. A bid need not be accompanied by a certified check or other evidence of financial responsibility. The contract will be awarded to the lowest, responsive and responsible bidder. Contracts will be entered into between the City as "Owner" and the successful bidder. In determining the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, the quality, workmanship, and delivery will be evaluated by the City. The bid must be all encompassing for the complete job from removal of old equipment to complete installation of the new system. Any bid submitted by a trust must identify each beneficiary of the trust, and each settlor empowered to revoke or modify the trust. The City of Portage Board of Public Works and Safety, in accordance with Title IV of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, Nondiscrimination in Federally-Assisted programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement will not be discriminated against on the grounds of religion, race, color, national origin, sex sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability/handicap, and/or low income in consideration for an award. The City reserves the right to reject all bids. It may waive informalities or minor defects in the bids at its discretion.
