Elkhart High School - Health and Strength Center. Elkhart Community Schools is inviting sealed Bid Proposals from interested and qualified parties for work at Elkhart High School - Health and Strength Center. Qualified bidders may submit bids for the project as described in this Document. Submit bids according to section 00 21 13 Instruction to Bidders. Project Description: In general, the project consists of the following scope of work: addition to the existing building, building construction of pre-engineered metal building structural system, with metal roof and wall panels. General and Life Safety scope of work per the General Drawings. Civil, Sitework, Grading, and Drainage scope of work per the Civil Drawings. Structural scope of work per the Structural Drawings. Architectural scope of work per the Architectural Drawings. Fire Sprinkler scope of work per the Fire Protection Drawings. Plumbing scope of work per the Plumbing Drawings. Mechanical scope of work per the Mechanical Drawings. Power, Lighting, and Systems scope of work per the Electrical Drawings. Specific scope of work as indicated on the Drawings and as specified in the Specifications herein. The existing building will remain fully occupied and in full use by the Owner until the completion of construction of the new addition. Bids will be received for the following Work: Multiple Contract Project consisting of prime contracts, the contracts below shall be bid as a part of this solicitation. Specific bid packages and the division of scope of work amongst those bid packages are forthcoming and will be clarified via addendum. At a minimum, it is anticipated that Division 21, 22, 23 and 26-28 will have their own bid packages. Scope under Divisions 02 - 14 will likely be divided up into several individual bid packages. Division 31 - 32 work may be assembled into one bid package or divided up into multiple. Bid security shall be submitted with each bid package in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid amount. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 30 days after the opening of bids. The successful bidder shall begin the work upon receipt of a Notice to Proceed and shall complete the work per the requirements in Specification Section 00 31 13.16 - Project Schedule. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids or portion(s) of bid, to waive any irregularities in the Bidding, and award contract in the Owner's best interest. After receipt of bids and completion of the review process, Elkhart Community Schools may award a contract to the bidder that, in its opinion, will provide a combination of the best services and reasonable cost. The selected bidder is required to provide a satisfactory performance bond and labor & material payment bond covering the full performance of the contract, irrevocable letter of credit, or other security. The costs of the bonds are to be included in each Bidding Multiple Prime Contractor's Bid Proposal. Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain required insurance and bonds required for the Work. A Performance Bond, separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in a form acceptable to Owner will be required of the successful bidder. The Owner requires all contractors and vendors doing business with the Owner not to discriminate against anyone on the basis of race, age, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, ancestry, non-job-related handicaps or national origin.
