Bid Valid 120 Calendar Days Bid Bond 10.00% Payment Bond 100.00% Performance Bond 100.00% The San Bernardino Municipal Water Department (SBMWD)is requesting proposals from qualified contractors to furnish materials, labor, equipment, and related services to identify the presence of lead gooseneck connected to the user service line at the corporation stop from SBMWD inventory of galvanized and unknown service laterals in the Muscoy area of the City of San Bernardino. When a lead gooseneck is discovered, the successful contractor will furnish the materials, labor, equipment, and related services to replace each lead service lateral to the applicable SBMWD Standard(s) per the scope of work included in the RFP documents. Each Bidder shall show that he/she has completed at least five (5) similar water distribution projects within the last three (3) years. An inventory of 308 unknown and galvanized services for the service laterals in the Muscoy area of San Bernardino has been completed. The objective of this project is to excavate and inspect all service laterals for the presence of a lead gooseneck connection. All galvanized service lateral will be replaced with new copper piping; however, any identified lead gooseneck connections will be replaced using the procedures outlined below. Procedure for Completing the Work Section One (Work Completed by SBMWD): SBMWD conducts repairs to approximately three hundred fifty (350) leaking water service laterals annually, including any service laterals listed in the Muscoy Project area that develop a leak before the inspection. When SBMWD works on an unknown or galvanized material service lateral, SBMWD staff will excavate the corporation stop to verify if a lead gooseneck connection is present. After exposing the corporation stop, pictures using the Contex Camera Application with the address and the name of the person who took the picture will be indicated in the note section before proceeding with any other work.
